The Tomten family are enjoying their offerings. Like the Ancestors, they are especially fond of marshmallows. Though they look like Solstice decorations, they comprise our house spirit altar, so they stay out year round. I made them from thrift-store wool sweaters that I felted.

i don't think i've talked about this project yet? it's an altar cloth made with 36 woven squares made with continuous strand weaving and seamed together before lightly felting. it should be about a meter square when finished.
i'm planning on embroidering it afterwards, but that is another project.

This weekend I finished up my next test design - Lady Wisdom! Strategy is her forte, and numerous arts & crafts. She was present at creation, says Psalms, and is traditionally depicted with an owl & the spear of truth.
This cast went pretty well. I do want to find some small real metal tubes for the spear.

You might recall from the last plaster experiment with embedding old jewelry that I wondered if excavation might be the way to go - a softer pour that would take longer to set and be malleable for a window of time.
So here is the first test of that methodology. She needs a clearcoat and some felt underneath, and then she's done.
Update - the first set of kabbalah peg icons is sold! This one was all red. I will probably do the next test set in the Four Worlds color scheme.
Or if you prefer a uniform color for the set, I can certainly do that as a bespoke project.
This is probably the last major project I'll do before Pesach - it's one of the Sphere of Protection altar cloths, featuring a horse design backing fabric and amber edging.
I have enough of the horse fabric on hand to make one more like this one.
The set comes with a prayer booklet and a compass.

I'm not sure about this one. I made it just fooling around a bit when I was still feeling a bit sick & was watching a lot of depressing intrnat'l news. Admittedly, this version is a lot better than the original idea I had: a mother and child tree watching in horror as their relatives burned, screaming silent tree screams.

It's been a while since I posted any woodcraft designs, so today I thought I would show another of the big box wood "gift bag" crafts, which are reusable. I will probably need to add one more bit of detailing to the green side.
It's challenging to overcome the issues that the low quality big box store craft items invariably have.
The Mystic's Shop - a set of two coordinating treasure boxes. Mother's Day, anyone?
For this particular set, one of the boxes is slightly larger than the other. Each features a scene from a Judaica shop & a letter Shin w/ swirling beads representing the Ruach HaKodesh.
I can recreate the decoupage, and do the boxes in any colors.
