I haven’t thought too much about it but the fact that Lucas goes for most of his life without much attention from Flint, makes me think he wants and needs the love from Duster. He’s not exactly THE same age as Flint but he’s the right size to pick Lucas up and rock him to sleep in his arms. I think Lucas would call him daddy many times, the poor thing needs someone.
Plus he’d need his blessing to marry Claus :3. #earthbound #mother3 #twincest
@Sp00derbundt Im hesitant to recommend Ágota Kristoffs "The Notebook/ Le Grande Cahier" off the cuff because its pretty dark.
BUT there is a little boy in the second novel whose character obviously inspired Duster.
Roles are reversed; Lucas is the father figure, but also Lucas is definitely seeing himself in this unfortunate child in very complicated ways.
Also Duster is someone whose relationship with his father is contentious, and the loss of his own mother a feature, so they SYMPATICO
@MostRoundestBoy don’t worry about that, I actually have the trilogy :3. Honestly one of my favorite books out there! But damn I didn’t realize Duster was from there too lol.
@Sp00derbundt they are incredibly affecting for how bleak they are.
I feel like the limp that transfers from Mathias to "True" Lucas then got migrated over to Duster (if thatmakes sense.)
Because of how much of the series is "Lucas Just disassociating" Im always wondering about the darker earlier drafts if mother 3
@MostRoundestBoy then Duster is Lucas’ new dad confirmed. He takes him and Claus in after all the crap that happens in the game and let’s them do whatever cause they deserve it lol.
I still haven’t gotten over the whole which was Lucas and which was Claus during the second and third book. I just want them happy together .
